The Social Work Advisory Board hosted a welcome-back event featuring the Dean of the School of Arts & Sciences, Dr. Thomas Keagy, on September 22, 2005. The Chair of the Department of Sociology, Social Work, & Criminal Justice, Janine Mariscotti, and Jonathan Harmon, MSS, LCSW, co-chair of the Board, welcomed board members and returning students. Social Work Advisory Board members are professional social workers and many are alumni/ae of the La Salle University Social Work Program.

Dean Keagy recognized the Board for the important role that they played in the reaccreditation of the Social Work Program. The Board, celebrating their 10th anniversary this year, supports the Social Work Program and students in many ways, including bringing special speakers to campus, speaking with students regarding career opportunities in social work, and updating the program on professional needs in the community.
