SWK Advisory Board Member is PA Social Worker of the Year
Joan Sadoff, MSW, member of the La Salle University Social Work Program Advisory Board, was recently named Social Worker of the Year by the Pennsylvania Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers, the largest professional organization of social workers in the world.

Ms. Sadoff, nominated by the La Salle University Social Work Program for this honor, was recognized for her ground-breaking work in filmmaking to explore the role of women in the civil rights movement in Mississippi in the 1960s.

Ms. Sadoff and her husband, Dr. Robert Sadoff, produced the film, "Standing on My Sisters' Shoulders", which has received numerous awards. Ms. Sadoff stated that social work "helpled me to listen with a third ear and gave me the confidence of enter the world of the civil rights movement."
