Overview

The Accounting Department of La Salle University offers a program in which high ability students can meet the 150-hour requirement for CPA certification while earning a dual Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree and Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in four years. Students entering the dual degree earn 120 credit hours for the B.S. degree and the remaining 30 credits in our full-time M.B.A. program.

Students move through the program at an accelerated pace by taking undergraduate summer classes for two summers following their first and second year, and graduate courses in the final summer following their fourth year.

Acceptance Requirements

Students entering the dual degree program as new freshmen are generally required to have a combined score at 1200 or higher on the critical reasoning and mathematics sections of the SAT exam. Students who do not meet the SAT requirement can enter the dual degree program after their first semester if they achieve a minimum 3.2 Grade Point Average at the University. Students enrolled in the program are expected to maintain a minimum 3.2 GPA overall and in the major.

In the middle of the third year, students must formally apply to the Full-time M.B.A. Program and be accepted.

Degree Alternatives

If a student decides not to complete the M.B.A. or does not qualify for acceptance to the graduate program, the student would have the option to leave the program with a B.S. degree after completing two additional accounting electives to meet the 128-credit, four-year B.S. requirement. Students who fail to complete the M.B.A. could still receive a B.S. with an accounting major if they complete two additional accounting courses at the undergraduate or graduate level.

Co-Op Work Opportunities

While enrolled in the Four Year BS/MBA Program, students can apply for an internship work experience. Qualified students can also enroll in the Business Scholars Co-op Program.
