The School of Nursing's Dr. Kathleen O. Vito, DNSc, RN was recently selected to be a trustee in the Betty Neuman Systems Model (NSM) Trustee Group at their recent international biennial symposium held April 21-23 in Akron, Ohio.
The NSM is a nursing conceptual model used widely in nursing education, research and practice. The Trustee's Group consists of 18 nurse educators, researchers and theorists formed to foster development and testing of the model,to promote scholarship for refinement of the model and development of middle range nursing theories.
To become a trustee is by invitation only from members of the Trustee's Group. Dr. Vito also presented a paper on use of the NSM in a School Nurse Practice and a poster on Parish Nursing at the symposium which was also sponsored by the University of Akron College of Nursing, the Malone College School of Nursing, Akron Medical Center and Delta Omega and Pi Chi Chapters of Sigma Theta Tau International. |
