| Joan Frizzell has been selected to present at the American Association of Colleges of Nursing Graduate Education Conference in Albuquerque, New Mexico on February 22, 2007. She will be presenting on creative learning strategies in teaching graduate pharmacology. This includes incorporating experiential learning into this course. Through experiential learning students develop an understanding of issues related to patient adherence to a therapeutic regimen. These issues include cost, adverse effects, and life style issues. After completing the first part of the project, the students analyse the information and make recommendations for changes. This project also provides the graduate students with their first opportunity to write prescriptions. Student response to this type of learning has been positive. |
