In recognition of her support for the Philadelphia High School for Girls, Dr. Joan Frizzell, Assistant Professor of Nursing, along with Sandy Johnson, a retired teacher, was honored at the 20th Annual Career Day on May 11. Councilwoman Marian Tasco sponsored the Proclamation, and Sharon Williams Losiery, Esq. presented it.
The Career Day at the Philadelphia High School for Girls was started in the spring of 1988 as joint effort between the school and the Alumnae Association. The idea for this event was conceived by the officers of the 232nd graduating class of 1988, their class sponsor, Sandy Johnson, and Frizzell, who was President of the Alumnae Association at that time.
