| Dr. Janice M. Beitz, R.N., Ph.D., CWOCN, Professor of Nursing,presented at the Third Annual BrazilianWOC/Oncology Nursing Conference on November 23, 2010 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Beitz spoke on the quality of life research and management of enterocutaneous fistulas and malignant fungating wounds. Later in the week, as a Visiting Professor at the Escola de Enfermagem (School of Nursing) at the University of Sao Paulo, she lectured, toured cancer hospitals and other facilities, and worked with masters and doctoral level students on their theses and dissertations related to WOC nursing issues and quality of life measurement. Beitz was invited by Dr. Vera Lucia de Gouveia Santos, the founder of the first Wound Ostomy Continence Program in Brazil and an internationally recognized scholar on quality of life issues in WOC/Oncology care.
