Goal 1: Educate students for dietetic internships, entry-level positions in the field of nutrition, and advance study in nutrition and other health sciences
- Greater than 50% of full-time degree students who complete the DPD will apply for a dietetic internship.
- Greater than 90% of full or part-time non-degree (post-baccalaureate) students will apply for a dietetic internship.
- Greater than 80% of all DPD students (full-time degree and full and part-time non-degree post-baccalaureate) who apply for a dietetic internship will be successful at obtaining one.
- Graduates of the DPD will achieve a pass rate of > 80% on the RD exam for first time test takers.
- Greater than 90% of program graduates will report “strongly agree” regarding preparation for entry-level job responsibilities.
- Greater than 90% of program graduates will report “strongly agree” regarding preparation for advanced study in nutrition or dietetic
- Greater than 90% of program graduates will report “strongly agree” regarding preparation for dietetic internships.
- Greater than 90% of dietetic internship directors will answer “yes” to the question that graduates are prepared for supervised practice.
- Greater than 90% of employers will answer “yes” to the question that graduates are prepared for entry-level professional nutrition practice.
- Greater than 80% of DPD graduates will have attained a dietetic internship, employment in the field of health nutrition, or be pursuing advanced study in nutrition or other health field.
Goal 2: Increase program enrollment and provide optimal support for enrolled students to successfully complete the Didactic Program in Dietetics
- Increase enrollment by 5% per year.
- Greater than 90% of full-time students (degree and non-degree postbaculaurette) who are classified as DPD students at the start of fall junior year coursework will complete the DPD within 2 years.
- Greater than 90% of part-time students (non-degree postbaculaurette) who are classified as DPD students at the start of fall junior year coursework will complete the DPD within 4 years.
- At least one DPD student per year will apply for an external professionally-sponsored scholarship.
- All full-time faculty will participate in one faculty development session per year on teaching methodology
- Program policies will be reviewed a minimum of once per year by Director and full-time faculty.
- Greater than 90% of program graduates (on exit interview) will “agree” or “strongly agree” that the nutrition program Director and faculty provided accurate guidance about the DPD program, dietetic and nutrition careers, and University policies.
Goal 3: Achieve full program enrollment while providing optimal support for enrolled students to successfully complete the Coordinated Program (CPD) in Dietetics.
Goal 4: Use program resources effectively and efficiently to achieve learning goals
- Maintain graduates’ program satisfaction levels of “above average” or “outstanding” for the learning environment (faculty, class sizes, lab, library, etc.) of the University.
- Greater than 90% of all DPD graduates will agree or strongly agree that they were overall satisfied with the DPD.
- CP shall maintain a student-to-faculty ratio consistent with the norm within the School of Nursing and Health Sciences.
- All full-time faculty will participate in one faculty development session per year on teaching methodology
- The DPD will update a minimum of 5% of its resources and reference materials annually for student and faculty use.
- Greater than 95% of all students will meet prerequisite requirements for courses within the DPD curriculum.
- 100 % of students will meet course residency requirements for issuance of DPD verification statements.
