** ASHA certification requires a minimum of 36 graduate credits.
*** Students are responsible for making sure that they follow ASHA guidelines for course selection. Selection of courses is made with an advisor and includes undergraduate transcript review. If students have deficiencies in undergraduate prerequisites, in accordance with ASHA guidelines, these courses must be completed. (See policy for admissions for undergraduate requirements)
**** Students must monitor their own clinic practicum hours to make sure that they have 400 requisite clinical hours for ASHA Certification (2005 ASHA Standards). Clinical practicum hours must be in a variety of settings and with various clinical populations. Students may have to enroll in additional clinical practicum hours to fulfill this requirement. Please contact www.asha.org for information about the 2005 Certification Standards. The timing of the initial clinical practicum course will be determined for each student based on the student’s background and experience.
