Interested in Being a Peer Tutor?

The Writing Center seeks peer tutors for the Writing Center. Employers find this experience valuable and it looks good on a resume. In addition, peer tutors find tutoring strengthens their own writing, critical, and communication skills. Tutors work with a range of students--freshmen to graduates and weak to very strong writers, for example-and with writing across the disciplines.

To apply, go to the Learning Support Services Web site at http://www.lasalle.edu/services/tlc/tutor_app.htm. Click on Tutoring Services and fill out the online application. Promising candidates will be asked to submit a writing sample as well as be interviewed.

Qualifications
Students should:
hold junior or senior status the year for which they are applying, though exceptional sophomores will be considered
have a GPA of 3.25 or better
have excellent writing and critical skills
be personable
Please note that applicants need not be English majors.
These positions are open to qualified students of any major.
