The Academic Enrichment Program (AEP) offers a highly personalized dimension of individual counseling, tutorial services, and special orientation programs for first-year students admitted under its provisions. The aim of the program is to assist students in adapting themselves to college life and their pursuit of academic success. Achieving this goal requires the cooperation, dedication, and determination of the AEP student.

AEP students participate in a five-day residency program in late August. At the conclusion of this program, AEP students begin the University Orientation with other first-year students. With intensive activities through the days and evenings, all AEP students are required to live on campus during the pre-orientation program. The activities are designed to help students get a good start in both their academic development and their social initation at La Salle.

During the freshman year, students in the AEP program follow a curriculum which includes the following:

Maximum course load of 4 courses during the fall semester

Coordinated writing program for the year, with the same instructor both semesters

Community Service Learning component

In the fall semester - English 100 (English Writing Skills)

In the spring semester - English 107 (College Writing I)

Foundation course in computing literacy (either fall or spring semester)

Specifically assigned Faculty Advisors who coordinate tutorial assistance with other course work

In order to remain in the AEP program a student must fully participate in the AEP summer program and complete English 100 with at least a "C" grade.
