Geared toward first-time and part-time/adjunct instructors, this workshop will focus on the use of technology in the classroom. The session will feature “how-to” information about the portal, email, WebCT, and Turnitin.com. Additionally, there will be opportunity to discuss classroom issues unique to new and part-time instructors.

This round-table discussion will focus on faculty experiences and concerns with regard to issues of academic integrity (e.g., cheating, plagiarism) and classroom behavior (e.g., lateness, attendance). According to a survey conducted by the Faculty Development Committee last year, these issues are of great concern to faculty members.

This interactive program for faculty and staff will focus on (1) How students are changing, (2) what the University has to support these students, and (3) what more can we do to assist student achievement?

Adult learners pose different opportunities and challenges in the classroom. This discussion-based session emphasizes learning styles and issues of interest to those teaching adult learners. Additionally, participants can share their strategies for teaching adult learners.
