Tutoring Ethics
Peer tutors are employees of the university and as such, peer tutors represent the Teaching and Learning Center. In this capacity peer tutors are expected to act professionally, which means tutors must maintain student confidentiality, be courteous and respectful of others, be open to different viewpoints, and encourage student learning in a positive instructional atmosphere. Importantly, tutors should refrain from negative comments about professors or other tutors. In addition, the tutor’s role is to help students be able to do their own work, not do their work for them. Tutors also help students to recognize plagiarism and assist them in avoiding this problem. Overall, with regard to ethics, tutors should consider themselves role models and act according.

By virtue of submitting this form, I have read the above and agree with the statements. To the best of my knowledge, the information on this application is complete and honest.
