According to the Students' Guide to Resources, Rights, and Responsibilities, "the University does not assume legal obligation to pay for any loss of or any damage to students' property if it occurs in its buildings or on its grounds prior to, during, or subsequent to the period of the housing contract. Personal property insurance is recommended."
