Career
Counseling
Career counseling provides the opportunity to engage in self assessment
and formulate educational plans and vocational goals on a one-on-one
basis with a career counselor. Career planning is an organized, individual
process centering on a student’s values, interests, and skills,
and their relationships with potential fields of study and career paths.
Our staff of professionals is available to help students in objective
self-assessment, in order to aid in defining strengths and goals and
learning how to apply them to the academic and working worlds.
Services
are free of charge and available for current students and alumni. We
have both day and evening appointment times. An intial session may last
from thirty minutes to an hour.
Among
our tools is DISCOVER, a computer-assisted career guidance
system that allows students to clarify their values, interests, skills,
and experiences, and match the results with occupations or groups of
occupations. Students are also able to search for graduate and professional
schools using a variety of criteria.
