Services for Alumni

The following resources, services and on-campus events are available to La Salle graduates free of charge. The off-campus events involve a modest fee for participation.

RESOURCES

Job postings - the Career Services Center receives a wide variety of job listings on a daily basis. All openings are filed in our Job binders and selected positions are posted on-line through our eXplorenet system.

The Job Binders… located in the lobby of the Career Services Center, are separated into various categories. Jobs are filed in one or more of the binders. You are welcome to peruse these binders during normal office hours.

eXplorenet is our on-line database of job openings and employers. Through this system you are able to search for positions listed specifically for La Salle graduates as well as employers who participate in some of our other programs. As an alumnus/a, an account can be created for you in; simply call or email us to set up an account.

Career Resource Library… Resources include various job search directories, business lists, graduate school guides and catalogs, company literature, as well as resume and cover letter writing guides; all designed to help you prepare for your job search and identify potential employers or grad schools

SERVICES

Career Counseling provides the opportunity to formulate or discuss educational plans and vocational goals on a one-on-one basis with a career counselor. Career planning is an organized, individual process revolving around the world-of-work and its relationship to one's total life. Our staff of professionals is available to help clarify career goals by helping each individual complete an objective self-assessment, define strengths and goals, and establish how to apply them to the working world.

Alumni-On-Campus is a program that allows you to connect and network with other La Salle graduates.

EVENTS - Job Fairs & Career Management Seminars

On-Campus Job Fairs
the Career Services Center sponsors two on-campus job fairs each year and participates in several consortia which host job fairs or career management seminars.

Internship Fair – held annually in the Fall semester (early November), fair attracts employers with internship, co-op and summer/seasonal positions. Although you may not be interested in these types of positions, this event is an opportunity to network with employers.

Career Expo attracts employers seeking candidates for full-time openings. Alumni are invited and encouraged to attend this event to discuss current and future openings as well as to network with the recruiters (many of whom are La Salle alumni). Career Expo is held annually in the Spring.

Off-Campus Job Fairs

La Salle’s the Career Services Center is a member of several local consortia which host job fairs or career management seminars.

MBA Talent Finder is an event hosted by the Greater Philadelphia MBA/Graduate Business Consortium. The Talent Finder provides the opportunity to network with graduate level business students and alumni, learn some of the latest career search techniques and possibly connect with employers of MBA graduates. Talent Finder is typically held in early to mid-November. Call or email Lou Lamorte for more information. DATE – Saturday, November 6, 2004

The Philadelphia Teacher Job Fair is sponsored by the Delaware Valley Education Consortium (DVEC), of which La Salle is a member institution. This annual event is held in the Spring; usually late-March or early—April. Current students and recent graduates are eligible to participate by purchasing a ticket through Career Services. Advance tickets are sold at a significant discount; however tickets may also be purchased at the door on the day of the event. More information can be found at the DVEC Job Fair web site. PACNet Career Management Seminar is hosted by the Philadelphia Alumni Career Network (PACNet), which is a collaboration of the career services and alumni offices of 14 local colleges and universities. The career management seminar designed to help you navigate the job market, update your job search strategies and network with Alumni from La Salle as well as other participating universities.
