The
Career Development Process:
Career planning is an organized, individual process revolving around
the world of work and its relationship to your total life. Planning
for success in your chosen field involves:
-Learning about yourself - your interests, values, skills, and abilities.
-Learning about the 'world of work' - investigating potential occupations
and careers.
-Getting practical experience and developing necessary skills.
-Creating a strategy to help you search for graduate schools and
jobs.
At La Salle, the the Career Services Center has a staff of professionals
who are available to help you conduct an objective self-assessment,
clarify your career goals, investigate your options, make connections,
and develop your job or grad school search strategy. Our services
are free of charge and available for current students and alumni.
To personally discuss your individual career development progress,
we suggest that you make an appointment with one of the the Career Services Center
counselors. You can also drop by the Center during our "Walk-In
Hours" if you have a quick question. We encourage you to attend
our Career Workshops, which are typically held in the the Career Services Center
Conference Room. Check the eXplorenet calendar for scheduled workshops.
It's never too early or too late to begin planning your career!
