ARTICLE IX. Amendments

Section 1: This Constitution may be amended by a 2/3 vote of the Senate assembled, provided that the exact wording of the amendment has been distributed to all Senators and Executive Officers no later than one week prior to consideration by the Senate.

Section 2: The Senate may, by majority vote, submit an amendment to the Constitution to the student electorate at a general or special election, provided that the exact wording of the proposed amendment is provided on a yes/no ballot. Any special election must be conducted over a period of three consecutive days, and must be advertised through all reasonable means. Only upon approval by a majority of students voting “yes” shall an amendment be considered adopted.

Section 3: This Constitution may not be amended by any means unless such amendments are submitted for consideration prior to thirty days before the next general election.
