What now?
 
1. 
Complete the La Salle University application packet. Application packets are available in the Multicultural and International Center (Located on the corner of 20th and Olney). Please review the contents of the packet closely. A number of components are necessary to have a completed application. These include:
Study Abroad Application
Study Abroad Application Essay
Emergency Contact Information Form
Health Information Form
Two (2) Completed Faculty Recommendations

Assumption of Risk and Release Form

The Study Abroad Selection Committee (SASC) will review your application. After verifying the academic caliber of each candidate, all applicants' disciplinary records will be reviewed. Students may be notified if any component of their disciplinary history at La Salle requires clarification.

 

3. 

Applicants will be notified of the SASC's decision in a timely manner.

 

4. 
 All accepted applicants will have a number of additional steps to complete before studying abroad. Failure to comply with these steps will jeopardize the student's ability to participate in the University's programs. These steps include, but are not limited to, the following:
All individuals traveling abroad must obtain a valid passport.*
Students attending American University Rome, Deakin University, or Universidad La Salle will need to apply for a visa from the Italian consulate 60 days prior to departure. Advice on obtaining your visa will be provided by the Multicultural & International Center.
All participants in La Salle University study abroad programs are REQUIRED to obtain an International Student Identity Card. In additional to the application, the MIC needs two (2) passport sized photographs, as well as a $23 CHECK made out to "La Salle University."*
Mandatory attendance to the pre-departure orientation. This session is held every semester. You will receive the date of the orientation from the International Education Coordinator.
All students receiving financial aid MUST visit their Financial aid advisorr in Financial Aid prior to their departure.
All students must complete a Course Authorization form with the Assistant Dean of their school prior to departure.
All students are responsible for arranging their own travel to and from the study abroad destination.
Resident students will need to complete appropriate forms from Administrative Services in order to secure on-campus housing following their return from abroad.
   

*Note on obtaining passport photographs: Passport-sized photographs are required for the processing of passport applications as well as the International Student Identity Card application. Passport photographs can be obtained at the Multicultural and International Center for $1.00 per picture. Please call to make an appointment to have your passport photo taken and developed at 215.951.1948.
