The National University of Ireland, Galway (NUI, Galway) was
founded in 1845. The University is committed to excellence
in teaching quality research and to the internationalization
of its curriculum and programs. The
University population includes
more than 11,000 students and1,000 staff. There are seven

Arts, Celtic Studies, Commerce, Engineering, Law, Medicine,
and Science. Each year, almost 1,000 international students
from 40 countries attend the University for a semester, year,
or for full degree programs. |

The Campus and its Surroundings:
The 260-acre campus of NUI, Galway is located on the banks of
the River Corrib, close to the City of Galway. Galway has a
population of 65,000 and it has been the largest and most important
city in the west of Ireland for nearly 1,000 years. Galway is
a cosmopolitan city with a thriving cultural and commercial
community. Its dynamic role in theater, arts, and culture has
earned it the title "Cultural Capital of Ireland."

Housing:
La Salle students studying at NUI, Galway are housed in apartments
in downtown Galway, called Niland House. Arrangements at Niland
House are primarily four-person apartments. |

Cost:
Tuition and housing for study at NUI, Galway is the
same as La Salle's tuition rate. Costs such as airfare, meals,
personal or incidental expenses, and other travel costs are
the student's responsibility and are not included. |

Eligibility:
Applicants must have an overall grade point average of 3.0 on
a 4.0 scale and receive the approval of La Salle University
for participation in the program. |
