Universidad La Salle
is a private Christian Brothers school established in 1962,
with branch campuses throughout Mexico. It has a student enrollment
of approximately 14,000 on all its campuses. It is considered
among Mexico's most prestigious, private, Catholic universities
noted for the beauty of its campus and its academic excellence. |

Universidad
La Salle Mexico City has a student population of some 10,000
people. The school has an urban campus located within the heart
of Colonia Condesa, a popular residential/commercial area. |

Surroundings:
While Mexico City, the largest city in the world with 20 million
inhabitants, offers many cultural opportunities and services.
The campus of Universidad La Salle is just ten minutes by metro
from Mexico City's famous Chapultepec Park and Pink Zone, and
approximately 20 minutes from its central square. The south
of the city, famous for its Spanish colonial architecture, volcanic
gardens, and cultural activities is also easily accessible via
the subway lines. |

Housing:
Students will be placed with families previously screened and
oriented by the Center of International Education at La Salle
(C.I.E.L.). Whenever possible, students will be individually
placed with a family to enhance language acquisition. Every
effort will be made to house students as close as possible to
the campus (within 15 minutes using public transportation).

Cost:
Tuition, room and board for study at Universidad La Salle is the
same as La Salle's tuition rate. Costs such as airfare, outside meals,
personal or incidental expenses, and other travel costs are
the student's responsibility and are not included. |

Eligibility:
Applicants must have an overall grade point average of 3.0 on
a 4.0 scale, at least one semester of Spanish language or equivalent
and receive the approval of La Salle University for participation
in the program. Classes are available in English through special
programs and in Spanish. Summer programs are also available.
