Service Trip Auction Home Page

Dear Faculty, Administration, Staff, and Friends:

The Lasallian Service trips have become a great tradition here on campus.  These trips embody La Salle’s mission of “preparing students for informed service and progressive leadership in their communities and to fulfilling the immediate and final goals of their lives.”  This year about 90 students will be traveling to Kentucky, Georgia, Tijuana, Mexico and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania to experience the beauty, joys, struggles, challenges, and hopes of the human spirit while working and living with materially impoverished but culturally and spiritually enriched communities.

But the four service trips, Project Appalachia, Habitat for Humanity, Los Ninos, and Project Mapendo do not happen simply because a small group of students roll up their sleeves and commit to making a difference.  Rather, they come together through the hard work, dedication, and open-mindedness of a broad team of LaSalle community members – students and alumni, friends, staff and faculty.  We hope we can count on you to contribute to this effort by joining us at our Fourth Annual Lasallian Service Trips Auction, Thursday, February 8th, 2007 from 4:30--9:00pm in the Union Ballroom. Hundreds of live and silent auction items will be auctioned off with all of the proceeds directly supporting our service trips and indirectly aiding the communities we serve.

Cost is $5 per student, $15 per person, and $25 per family.
Price includes a wonderful dinner, desserts and light refreshments as well!

Additionally, there will be an Alumni Cocktail Party in the Faculty Dining Room beginning at 4:30pm (Alumni, Faculty and Staff are welcome and encouraged to attend!)

How else can you help?  In addition to your presence at our major fundraising event, we ask you to consider contributing an item to be auctioned. Think of your hobbies, talents, passions, and connections.  These all are resources that can be both unique and appealing to bidders.  Here are some creative and successful donations to get you thinking: sports or cultural outings with faculty, a semester’s worth of books, crafts or memorabilia, cooked dinners, tickets to events, electronics items, vintage music collections, and more.  Also, consider collaborating with friends or co-workers on campus to contribute something memorable and creative.  All contributions are appreciated, no matter the size, and go a long way towards uniting the LaSalle community with those in Kentucky, Georgia, Tijuana and Dar es Salaam.  Please stop by the Office of University Ministry and Service, or contact us at 215-951-1804, to donate or to learn more.  Also, feel free to make an online donation as well via this website!

Thank you in advance for your generous spirit.  We are indebted to you for sustaining the Service Trips through prayer, contributions, and team support.  Thank you! We look forward to seeing you Thursday, February 8th!

In peace and gratitude,

University Ministry and Service
