Neighborhood Tutoring is a group of La Salle students that tutors local neighborhood kids in grades K-8.
Volunteers tutor two days of the week: either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday from 4:15 to 5:00pm. All sessions are held in the basement of the Connelly Library and tutors work with their students one-on-one.
The first 45 minutes of tutoring is devoted to homework help. The last half hour consists of planned activities, games, and/or coloring.
Neighborhood Tutoring also plans different events throughout the year like Trick-or-Treating in the Townhouses, co-sponsored by LOCK, as well as the Spring Carnival.
If you are a new tutor interested in joining the program you can contact Stephanie, one of our eight coordinators, at steevess1@lasalle.edu. |
