Retreats

The retreat program at La Salle seeks to offer students a chance to take time out their busy lives to reflect, discern, pray, play, and make new friends.  Take time to retreat and renew…you owe it to yourself!

2009-2010 Retreat Schedule

Fall Semester:

Freshman Retreat
Sept 19-20 at Diamond Ridge Retreat Center, PA
Depart La Salle at 12:30 PM on Sept. 19
Team: Julia Walsh, Megan Marron, Brendan Young, Kevin Murphy
Must be registered/paid by Sept 11th

This is a 2 day, 1 night get away retreat for freshman only. Various themes include friendship, involve, welcome, accept! It is meant to help you meet new people, feel welcome, and start to find your place at La Salle.  We will reflect on transitional concerns that you might experience in the first few weeks or first semester here on campus like homesickness, living with a roommate, academic pressures and feeling alone.

We have all been through what you will experience as a freshman, and we want to provide a supportive community here for you! Through the strength and examples of our student leaders, we will convey both the learned successes and learned failures of a real LaSallian experience, and hopefully serve as a role model to help you both lead and succeed at LaSalle. There will be a good amount of free time and lots of activities to make it a relaxing, reflective, and unforgettable experience!

Athletic Retreat
October 23-24 at Diamond Ridge Retreat Center, PA
Depart La Salle at 5:00 PM on Oct. 23
Must be registered/paid by Oct. 12th

This is a 2 day, 1 night retreat for anyone who identifies as an athlete; you are not required to play a sport here at La Salle to go on this retreat.  If you have any experience as an athlete, this retreat is for you! We will explore the smiliarities, successes, and challenges between being an athlete and your faith life.  This retreat will be run by student athletes here at La Salle and will be a time to challenge yourself both physically and spiritually. Will include team building activities/ropes challenge course.  "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." (2 Timothy 4: 7)

Kairos 2 College II Retreat
November 13-15 at John Paul II Retreat Center, NJ
Must be registered/paid by Nov. 6th

This is a 3 day, 2 night retreat for those students who have completed a Kairos retreat in high school.  It continues on the spirit of "living the 4th" and applies your Kairos experience to life here at LaSalle.  You will find a vibrant community of K2C'ers, helping to support you during your time here!  Reignite the fire that you experienced on Kairos and spread it…

Spring Semester:

Ski/Snowboarding/Tubing Retreat
February 19-21 at Trout Lake Retreat Center, PA
Camelback Mountain
Must be registered/paid by Feb. 8th

This is a 3 day, 2 night retreat open to all students. The theme will be determined by the retreat team, but will focus on one’s experience of faith and God in his or her life. This is a great beginner retreat for students who have not had a lot of retreat experience. Spend time reflecting on your life and faith, while also spending time on the slopes with friends.

Building Life's Relationships Retreat
March 26-28
Must be registered/paid by March 19th

The quality of one’s life is determined by the quality of one’s relationships.  Our lives are filled with relationships…with ourselves, family, friends, significant others, and God.  Our relationships grow and change throughout our lives, especially during the college years, and shape the person we become. This retreat allows one to reflect on his or her current relationships, find forgiveness where necessary, create connection and/or let go when needed, and to rebuild/heal those important relationships in our lives.
