St. Hilary Hall This building contains double and single rooms and are of the traditional long-hallway design. Each of the three floors has it's own common bathroom. The halls are arranged so that male students are housed on the bottom floor and female students are on the second and/or third floor. The nearest laundry facilities for St. Hilary residents are located in the basement of St. Jerome Hall. There is one Resident Assistant on each floor. All student mailboxes are located in the North Halls Mailroom. Hilary of Poitiers - Known as the first great Christian thinker from France, he was noted as a defender of the faith and a scholar who helped to change the course of religious history in the West. He wrote the first lengthy study of the doctrine in Latin, introduced Eastern theology to the West, and contributed to the development of hymnology. The son of pagan parents, he was received into the church at the age of 30 and later was named Bishop of Poitiers. He died in 366. |
