La Salle University Unveils New Web Portal,
mylasalle, for Prospective Students
 |
As
of May 15, 2003, students interested in enrolling at La Salle
University will have access to a new web tool called, mylasalle,
which will enable them to customize their exploration of the
University and its services.
mylasalle
is designed specifically for prospective students and is
customized to
fit their
individual
needs
|
and preferences.
With
very little instruction, users can learn how to configure their own
personal page layouts and create links to useful La Salle information
and/or outside websites. And mylasalle can be accessed from
virtually anywhere.
"mylasalle will allow prospective students to get information
about their particular major, extracurricular activities, information
about student life, dormitories, tuition and fees, financial aid options,
and much more," says Dr. Sabrina De Turk, Assistant Provost for
Learning Support and Faculty Development at La Salle, who was co-project
manager for mylasalle, along with Michael Wisniewski, Director
of Student Financial Services at La Salle.
"It's
clear that the wave of the future in college admissions is online,
and we wanted something that would give prospective students customized
and personalized information, something they wouldn't get from our
main
Web page," says De Turk.
Another
feature of mylasalle is that students will also be able to
complete an online application without repeating information; the
program saves data, such as hometown address and high school, and
automatically enters it into the application process.
