Julie Morrison Named Director of University Events at La Salle University

Julie Morrison has joined La Salle University as the school’s Director of University Events.

She previously was Marketing Communications Manager at Cambridge Savings Bank in Cambridge, Mass.

“I came to La Salle because I wanted to work with students and higher education,” she said. “Being a member of Susquehanna University’s Alumni Association, I know how important it is for students to be proud of their school’s events. This position allows me to wear a variety of hats. I get to be creative and add personal touches.”

Originally from Mount Carmel, Pa., Morrison previously worked as a Senior Account Executive for Weber Shandwick , a public relations agency in Boston

A graduate of Susquehanna University, she majored in Communications and minored in Business. She also received a certificate from Northeastern University in Meeting and Event Planning, and is currently working towards gaining a Certified Special Event Planner designation

“I am always trying to learn and improve my skills, which La Salle fully supports,” she said.

Morrison is also a member of the International Special Events Society, which consists of suppliers, DJs, special event planners and other professionals who would be involved in planning an event. They participate in monthly meetings and conferences that help members broaden their event planning skills.

“Julie has great experience in managing events, “says Brian Elderton, La Salle’s Vice President for University Advancement. “She has high energy and the kind of personality that fits perfectly with La Salle.”

Morrison is planning a number of events this fall, including Oktoberfest, Homecoming, and the ground-breaking for an expansion of La Salle’s Bucks County Center in Newtown, Pa.

“I plan to continue making noteworthy events here at La Salle, while learning and growing in the university environment.” she said.
