Ten BUSCA Students Receive Scholarships from
the Sallie Mae Fund

“A grant from the Sallie Mae Fund has provided 10 Bilingual Undergraduate Studies for Collegiate Advancement (BUSCA) students at La Salle University with scholarships. The recipients are: Ivis Agosto, Gabriela Colon, Amneris DeJesus, Jesus DeJesus, Carol Lopez, Clara Ramirez, Jeanette Rodriguez, Alvaro Rosario, Maria Santana, and Maria Suarez, all of Philadelphia.

BUSCA is an academic program which enables students whose primary language is Spanish, to earn an associate’s degree at La Salle, and to transition into a bachelor’s degree program at the University.

The Sallie Mae Fund is a charitable organization sponsored by Sallie Mae, the nation’s leading provider of student loans and administrator of college savings plans. The Sallie Mae Fund achieves its mission, to increase access to higher education by supporting programs and initiatives that help open doors to higher education.
