La Salle University Honors Alumnus Daniel K. Fitzpatrick with Its 14th Annual Charter Leadership Award

Daniel K. Fitzpatrick, C.F.A, of Newtown, was honored by his alma mater with the La Salle University’s Leadership Award, which was presented at the University’s 14th Annual Charter Dinner and Leadership Award Ceremony on March 25.

A 1986 graduate of La Salle, Fitzpatrick is the President of Bank of America, Pennsylvania, and has been a fixture in the region’s financial industry for nearly 20 years. As President, and Middle Market Banking Executive for Pennsylvania and Southern New Jersey, Fitzpatrick leads a team of commercial bankers in developing comprehensive financial solutions for companies with revenues between $20 million and $2 billion in Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey, and Delaware.

La Salle University’s Charter Dinner and Leadership Award celebrates the founding of La Salle College on March 20, 1863, and pays tribute to the generations of Christian Brothers, laypersons, and clergy whose dedication has made La Salle the institution it is today.

The Leadership Award recognizes an individual who displays outstanding leadership in the corporate, civic, governmental or religious communities, shaping the quality of life in the Philadelphia region. Proceeds from the Charter Dinner and Leadership Award Ceremony go directly to the University’s Scholarship Fund, benefiting future generations of La Salle students.

"I am humbled and honored due to the prestige and accomplishment of the past recipients of the Leadership Award, truly distinguished leaders such as  the late Fred DiBona, Dan Whelan, Leon Ellerson, and Bill Sasso, to name just a few ," said Fitzpatrick.  "My father was also a graduate of LaSalle, so this award is especially meaningful for me and my family."

As this year’s recipient for the Leadership Award, Fitzpatrick was a natural choice, according to Jane Golden, Director of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program, and Honorary Co-Chair of the Charter Dinner and Leadership Award. “Dan Fitzpatrick is an ideal corporate leader who understands the impact that he and his organization can have on the City of Philadelphia and its communities. He is truly a neighborhood builder, committed to empowering non-profits like the Philadelphia Mural Arts Program with resources and leadership,” Golden said.

Fitzpatrick is a member of the boards of directors for the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, as well as the Chamber’s CEO Council for Growth, Pennsylvania Economy League, Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance, Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau, Corporate Executive Board of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and Philadelphia 2016.

He also serves on the board of directors for Catholic Social Services and the Office of Catholic Education for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. He is also the Chairperson of the Steward’s Alliance, a charitable education and social service organization affiliated with Catholic Social Services. He and his wife Beth live in Newtown with their four children.
