La Salle University Welcomes
1,642 New Students to Campus

Parents waiting anxiously at their cars, Security and Safety Officers directing traffic on Olney Avenue, and students unloading televisions, mini-refrigerators, and armfuls of clothing can only mean one thing—Freshman Move-In Day, Thursday, August 24, at La Salle University.

This fall, La Salle University welcomes to the campus community 848 freshmen, 119 transfer students, as well as approximately 450 new graduate students and 225 new continuing studies students. La Salle’s total undergraduate enrollment now stands at 4,355. Another 1,900 students are enrolled in the University’s graduate programs.

The fall semester begins at La Salle with many new developments, which include: a re-affirmation of institutional accreditation by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association; upgraded instructional technology in numerous classrooms; three new programs in the College of Professional and Continuing Studies (accelerated business, accelerated liberal studies, and a certificate in fraud and forensic accounting); a Saturday M.B.A. program; and a new Department of Integrative Studies.

In addition to the developments in the classroom, La Salle has also made dramatic transformations at both the Main Campus and its Bucks County Center in Newtown, Pa. On Main Campus, artificial turf has been installed at both McCarthy Stadium and Hank DeVincent Field, and lights have been added to McCarthy Stadium.

At the Bucks County Center a 20,000 square-foot expansion project will add 13 classrooms, a computer lab, two nursing labs, a science lab, an expanded resource center/library, and an executive seminar/conference room.
