La Salle University’s Andrew Estroff Earns Top Marks for Web Page Design in Two Competitions
Andy Estroff, Associate Manager for Web Design at La Salle University, received the highest rankings in web page designs from MarCom, the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals. He also was recognized for his work in two other projects.
For his design of the La Salle Art Museum web page he was awarded "Platinum" status; for his work on the Alumni Relations home page he was awarded "gold" status; and for the third homepage, for a program aimed at Spanish-speaking students, he was awarded honorable mention status.
Out of more than 5,000 entries, only 15 percent were judged platinum, 16 percent were judged gold, and only 10 percent of entries were judged honorable mention. Earlier this year, Estroff received an American Graphic Design Award for excellence in communication and graphic design a few months ago for the Art Museum home page.
“The art museum needed a new, unique design that demonstrates their elaborate collections while also utilizing the common elements of the rest of the Web sites at La Salle University,” said Estroff. “The idea was to attract and retain the visitors through its creative look and easy-to-use navigation.”
Madeleine Vijloen, Director of the Art Museum, said, “The website takes a refreshingly new approach, while conveying the content clearly and concisely."
“It is great advantage to have these awards help point out our success,” said Estroff, who was graduated from La Salle in 2005 with a degree in Digital Arts and Multi-Media Design. “It feels good to help the University create attractive Web sites and create a benchmark for creativity in higher education.”
As Associate Manager, Estroff designs and manages the aesthetics and also develops user-friendly navigational structures for each web site of the University, which ranges from Admissions, to each of the University’s four academic schools (Arts and Sciences, Business, Nursing and Health Sciences, and Professional and Continuing Studies) as well as departments and programs.
