to Speak at La Salle University Journalism Classes

Pulitzer Prize winner Michael Vitez, of the Philadelphia Inquirer, will guest lecture in two writing classes at La Salle on November 16. |
Pulitzer Prize winner Michael Vitez, a Philadelphia Inquirer staff writer, will speak to two La Salle journalism classes on Thursday, Nov. 16. Limited extra seating is available for interested guests. The classes are held in the computer room on the ground floor of the Communication Center on south campus.
Vitez will talk about writing profiles (a specialty), as well as his new book, Rocky Stories: Tales of Love, Hope and Happiness at America's Most Famous Steps, a series of profiles of people from around the world who have who run the steps and dance at the top, and why they come and do this. He and Inquirer photographer Tom Gralish stayed by the statue, interviewing and photographing visitors.
The journalism classes are from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., and 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
Huntly Collins, who is teaching the courses, was a former colleague of Vitez at the Inquirer.
