Spring Break Means Service and Education
for Hundreds of La Salle Students
While many college students are heading to white sandy beaches for spring break, more than 200 La Salle students are spread out across the globe taking part in community service and education trips.
As part of Project Appalachia, 40 La Salle students will drive 12 hours to Harlan, Ky. where they will repair and renovate houses for low-income families. Another group of students from La Salle’s nursing program will travel to a Mayan village in Guatemala. The nursing students will perform health screenings for students in a Mayan school and teach them about basic health care.
Other La Salle students and faculty are traveling to locales such as Vietnam, Ireland, England, India, Germany, France, Italy, and China. |
