La Salle University's Diplomat-in-Residence Program Features a Christian Brothers School Where a Majority of Students are Muslim

La Salle University’s Annual Diplomat-in-Residence Program opens with (brings to campus) a group of faculty, staff and alumni from Bethlehem University in the Middle East, a school operated by the Christian Brothers, the order that also operates La Salle. What is significant about Bethlehem College is that at least two-thirds of the student body is Muslim. In addition, diplomats from Palestine and Israel will be involved in several panel discussions. 

The symposium will be held from March 11 to April 2, and is free and open to the public. All events are at La Salle’s Student Union Building. It is co-sponsored by La Salle’s Catholic Studies Program and with the support of the Theodore E. Morrow Memorial Fund.

H.E. Ambassador Riyad Mansour (Permanent Observer of Palestine to the United Nations), H.E. Ambassador Daniel Carmon, Deputy Permanent Representative, Mission of Israel to the United Nations, Br. Jack Curran, F.S.C. (Vice President for Development: Bethlehem University), Dr. Walid Mustafa (Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Bethlehem University), Ms. Samar Khalil (2008 Business Administration graduate, Bethlehem University), Mr. Elias Halabi (2007 Sociology/Psychology graduate, Bethlehem University), Rev. Drew Christiansen, S.J. (America Magazine)
