Personal Finance Expert Jane Bryant Quinn to Speak at
La Salle’s 2008 Economic Outlook Forum
Jane Bryant Quinn, one of the nation’s leading commentators on personal finance, will be the featured speaker at La Salle University’s 2008 Economic Outlook Forum. The event, hosted by La Salle University’s School of Business and The Business Network of the Union League of Philadelphia, will be held on Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at noon at the Union League.
Quinn’s presentation, “The Economy and Your Money,” will offer audience members a knowledgeable, well-researched overview and advice for personal finance in the wake of today’s turbulent U.S. economy. She will discuss the outlook of the business economy, reviewing pending government action and legislation, while detailing the impact the current economy has on one’s personal finances.
“Jane Bryant Quinn has established herself as one of America’s most trusted voices for people trying to manage their money well,” said Paul Brazina, Dean of La Salle’s School of Business. “In light of the current erratic market, Ms. Quinn’s topic—the economy and our money—is quite timely.”
Named by World Almanac as one of the 25 most influential women in the United States, Quinn’s books, Making the Most of Your Money, and Smart and Simple Strategies for Busy People, have been read by millions. Her columns on investing and money management have appeared in Newsweek, and her twice-weekly column on personal finance is syndicated by The Washington Post to more than 250 newspapers.
In addition to being a columnist and an author, Quinn worked for 10 years for CBS News, first appearing on the CBS Morning News and later on the Evening News with Dan Rather. She hosted her own show Take Charge! on Public Broadcasting System and is a regular guest on Good Morning America.
