La Salle University’s 2010 Economic Outlook Forum to Feature Top Forecaster Joel Naroff, Ph.D.

Joel L. Naroff, President and founder of Naroff Economic Advisors, and award-winning economic forecaster, will be the featured speaker at La Salle University’s 9th Annual Economic Outlook Forum. The event, hosted by La Salle’s School of Business and the Business Network at The Union League of Philadelphia, will be held Wednesday, January 27, at noon at The Union League.

His presentation, “The Recovery: Gangbusters or Just a Bust?” will provide the audience with an expert view of today’s current turbulent global economy. “The good news is that we are out of the recession,” said Naroff. “But, is that the only good news or can we really recover quickly from the massive damage done to the economy?”

A nationally recognized economic forecasting expert, Naroff has received numerous accolades. In 2008, he received the Lawrence Klein Award for Blue Chip forecasting excellence, one of the oldest and most prestigious forecasting honors. He was also named the 2008 top economic forecaster by Bloomberg Business News. In 2007, he received the National Association of Business Economists Outlook Award for top economic forecaster. In addition, MSNBC named him top forecaster in 2006.

Based in Holland, Pa., Naroff Economic Advisors is a strategic economic consulting firm, advising companies across the country on risks and opportunities that economic developments may have on the organization.

Prior to founding Naroff Economic Advisors, Naroff served as Chief Economist for Commerce Bank, First Union Bank and First Fidelity Bank Corp. Previously, he served as a tenured professor at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

Naroff earned a doctoral degree in economics from Brown University, and bachelor’s degrees in economics and chemistry from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
