Today’s topic is a brief review of positioning with cascading style sheets, and then Dreamweaver's CSS templates.
Reading : HTML, XHTML & CSS Chapter 11, and (optional) Dreamweaver CS4 chapters 7 and 8.
For the latter, we will watch Chapter 3 and 5 from these Adobe TV videos.As promised, here are two class examples of broken positioning, one that was OK in Firefox and one OK in IE (view this in Firefox). Here's what I came up with: fix for IE; fix for Firefox. Note the latter meant using position:relative, rather than a float: . Take a look through the W3Schools version, and be able to answer their quiz.
Here for use with iframes is a site that discusses colored scrollbars (IE 6+ only). For future reference, recall the site that will translate or explain advanced CSS for you, called the Select Oracle. More important is a good reference list for current CSS-3 properties at Bloobery.com. Other key CSS sites for ideas and "look-and-feel" include:
