For starters here’s an article on Web 2.0 from a design perspective. For updates on logins check trouble sheet in Wister. When your password is reset, use telnet and WS_FTP to create and check on your public_html directory (see Jan. 17 page). Today’s topic is searching, and sources. - A useful series of articles on search engines from About.com
- Yahoo!, used to be only a directory, as opposed to Google or Alta Vista, an index created by robots or spiders (try the Images search).
- Try some specialty searches in search.com from c|net, and try a meta-search engine such as Dogpile or The Mother of All Search Engines.
