DHTML Menus

These are some of the more promising sites for DHTML, specifically dropdown (really, fly-out) menus.

Csscreator dropdown menu, Webbedenvironments dropdown, Jessett dropdown, Fireworks menus (for now in an html file), Coolmenus from dhtmlCentral, Milonic (lots), NavSurf (zipped), the DynamicDrive menu library, BrotherCake (free to non-commercial users only) and a commercial site: OpenCube (says it's free with linking) Suckerfish.

OpenCube is (seems to be) a free, fully functional trial app that some people swear by. It's definitely worth a look—take a look at the console (About), Sample It, and look at who's using their menus.

You can also create them easily with Dreamweaver's Spry widgets in CS4. Start with these tutorials. Remember that you need a DHTML (or Flash, or CSS—see Eric Meyer again) fly-out menu in your final project.
