The La Salle University BIOSTATION is our field facility. It is located in the Penllyn Natural Area along the upper Wissahickon Creek near Ambler , PA. The natural area is owned by the Wissahickon Valley Watershed Association.
Our Biostation was built in 1968 and is used as a base for La Salle's ecological studies, especially for Field Ecology (Bio. 404). The natural area covers approx. 17 acres along the Wissahickon Creek. A good portion of the area is floodplain but non-floodplain habitats are present.
