Yu-Gi-Oh has first started off its history in Japan. The series was created by a man called Kazuku Takahashi, who helped write the original comic book of Yu-Gi-Oh in 1996, involving the tale about a game-playing boy with mystical powers. Shortly after, a TV series was created, but it turned out to be a failure in the public eye. Two years later in 1998 though, Takahashi added more to his plot, which made it take off considerably within the teenage male demographic.

Now, Yu-Gi-Oh has skyrocketed in its industry. Konami, the company that is responsible for both the video game editions and card games have gained about $1.3 billion. The phenomonon doesn't end there, as Yu-Gi-Oh's brand name has been found on other forms of media and merchandise, such as comic books, the Anime Series that debuted in 2000, video cassettes and DVDs, and more.
