Dr. Jones specializes in marketing and related areas of consumer behavior. His research has focused on marketing strategy, promotional strategy and enhancing business communication skills. His current research centers on marketing strategies that encourage timely and appropriate help-seeking for medical and psychological service clients. He teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in marketing strategy, promotional strategy, consumer behavior and personal selling.

Dr.
Jones’ work has been published in Psychology
and Marketing, the Journal of
Consumer Marketing, the Marketing
Education Review and the Journal of
College Student Development. He has
also been a frequent contributor at the American Marketing Association’s
National Educator’s Conferences as well as the Southern Marketing Association’s
Conferences and regional academic marketing conferences. He is a consulting editor for the journal Psychology and Marketing and a member of
the editorial review board of the Journal
of Health Care Marketing. Dr. Jones
also has taught in the University of Sheffield’s executive MBA program in
Northern Greece and has been an invited speaker at Greek business conferences.
Dr.
Jones has helped profit and non-profit enterprises in learning about their
customers through marketing research (qualitative and quantitative), evaluation
of market plans and marketing managers, and communication skills training for
salespeople. His for profit clients have included Proctor and Gamble, General
Signal Corporation, Carolina Telephone and Telegraph, Bell Atlantic and NYNEX, Hewlett
Packard and he has conducted management training seminars for Resorts
International in Atlantic City and the Philadelphia
Inquirer. He also has worked with
the non-profits Wellness Community-Philadelphia and The Preservation Alliance
with marketing research and with developing their marketing strategies.
