John F. Connolly, Jr.

John F Connolly, Jr. is founder and Chief Executive Officer of InspiriTec, Inc., an "inspired social entrepreneurship" dedicated to developing employment opportunities for people with disabilities in computer related professions. John and his colleagues have developed InspiriTec into a successful computer and information systems firm, most of whose employees are persons with disabilities. He has led the development of high profile systems for firms such as AT&T, the National Disease Research Interchange, the University of Pennsylvania, and ActionAIDS. John has served as the overall project manager for development and implementation for a state wide parks reservation and revenue information system, and call centers for the Pennsylvania Bureau of State Parks, the Pennsylvania Public Utilities Commission, and the Department of Public Welfare. During peak periods these call centers have employed more than 80 persons and handle up to 5,000 calls per day. John is particularly interested in exploring the interplay between not-for-profit and for-profit principles as well as the role of spirituality in the formation of high-performing organizations.

John Loftus
2009 Award Recipient

John Loftus, the 2009 IT Leadership Award winner, is a Venture Partner with Internet Capital Group (ICG).. In addition, he is the Founder and President of the Swinford Group LLC, a management consulting firm focused on technology growth strategies. Loftus was also the Managing Director and Executive VP for all technology investments at Safeguard Scientifics Inc., along with being the co-founder of Gestalt LLC.  He has developed and taught a graduate-course at La Salle University and presented guest lectures at the University of Pennsylvania and Villanova University.  Loftus serves on many boards, including a term as Chairman of the Computing Advisory Board at La Salle.  He holds a BEE and MS in Electrical Engineering, and Computer Science from Villanova University and a MS in Organizational Dynamics from the University of Pennsylvania.

Leon Ellerson, '56
2008 Award Recipient

Leon Ellerson is the President of Keystone Computer Associates, a computer software company in Fort Washington, Pa., that he co-founded in 1965. He has been President since 1975.  Ellerson has emerged as a leading entrepreneur in the computer industry. He and his company have been honored twice for growth and success by the Small Business Administration (SBA). In 1978, he was selected as the Philadelphia district’s “Small Business Person” of the year, and his company, Keystone Computer Associates, became the SBA 8-A Program’s Graduate of the Year for 1987. In 2004, Mr. Ellerson received the Charter Dinner Leadership Award. In 1991, the African American Student League and the La Salle University Alumni Association presented Ellerson with the Warren E. Smith, M.D., Award. In 1999, the Alumni Association honored him with the John J. Finley, ’24, Award, which recognizes La Salle graduates who have exhibited outstanding service to the La Salle community. Currently, Ellerson continues to be a devoted alumnus of La Salle as well as a retired member of the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees of La Salle University, a vice-chairman of the Board of Directors of the Philadelphia Zoo, and a vice-chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mann Center for the Performing Arts.

Diego Caldrin, '83

Diego F Caldrin is the President and Chief Executive Officer for Anexinet Corporation.  His responsibilities include overseeing the day-to-day operations and executive management.  Under his direction, Anexinet has experienced sustained growth and recognition with several prestigious industry and regional business awards.  As the co-founder and first Chief Technical Officer for Anexinet, he authored the Company’s foundational S.A.F.E-T²® project delivery model for successfully providing value-driven solutions.  A 1983 graduate of La Salle, Calderin began  his career with General Electric’s (GE) Space Systems Division as a programmer. Driven by an entrepreneurial spirit, he founded Acatar Inc. which he later merged with his next business Anexinet.  In addition to his professional accomplishments, Calderin is recognized for his contributions to his alma mater, serving as the Chairperson of the Integrated Science, Business and Technology (ISBT) Advisory Board that helped plan and design the program.

Diane Melley
2006 Award Recipient
Ms. Melley is a Director in IBM Community Relations and leads the Business Integration team where Community Relations assets are integrated with IBM's business strategies. Ms. Melley also oversees IBM's global philanthropic giving in the Delaware Valley and their program called “Reinventing Education.” Ms. Melley is a 2001 Eisenhower Fellow to Belgium and Ireland and chairs the Eisenhower Alumni Regional Fellows Group. She serves as a Commissioner on the Mayor's Commission on Technology (MCOT) in Philadelphia , and many boards including the Philadelphia Education Fund, Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce Arts and Business Council. Ms. Melley has a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from La Salle University and completed graduate work at Drexel University . She lives in PA with her husband and two young daughters.

William H. Morgan
2005 Award Recipient
Bill Morgan is the Senior Vice President Global Human Resources of NASDAQ OMX.  Prior to this position, Mr. Morgan was Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer for the Philadelphia Stock Exchange. Mr. Morgan is responsible for the Technology Division of the PHLX and Market Operations. His responsibilities included directing the management of Development, Technical Services, Communications, Data Center Operations, Production Support, Quality Assurance and Market Operations Departments. Under Morgan's leadership , the exchange received two industry awards for its innovative trading technology: the Sun Microsystems Stellar Performance Award 2004 and the Best Practices in Enterprise Management Award. Morgan has serves.  Morgan also serves on the Board of Directors for Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center, Inc., the SIM Board of Directors, the La Salle University Computer Science Advisory Board, the Villanova University CIO Advisory Council and the Npower CIO Advisory Council.  

John Carrow

John Carrow joined Unisys as Chief Information Officer and Vice President, Worldwide Information Technology, in December 1996. As the CIO, he has worldwide responsibility for Unisys information technology. Before joining Unisys, John Carrow served, from 1993, as the first Chief Information Officer of Philadelphia . Prior to serving as CIO for the City of Philadelphia , Mr. Carrow had a successful sixteen year career with General Electric.
