La Salle University
Risk Management and Insurance Program
Academic Program Summary
La Salle University was chartered in 1863 by the Legislature of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and is empowered by that authority to grant academic degrees. Degrees in Arts and Sciences, Business and Nursing are offered.
In 1995 La Salle's School of Business Administration received accreditation by the American Assembly of Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). In addition to AACSB required courses leading to the baccalaureate degree, a student must complete four courses in risk management and insurance to meet requirements for a minor. This requirement compares favorably with five courses that many schools require for a major in risk management. A La Salle student with a RMI minor also brings to the workplace the benefit of an academic major in Accounting, Finance, Management, Marketing, or Mathematics in addition to the academic benefit of the minor.
To fulfill requirements for the minor, a business major must complete four (4) courses from the RMI course offerings. Requirements are slightly different for a non-business major.
