The following are some potentially useful and/or interesting links to web sites connected with astronomy. There are many astronomy related web sites on the internet, so this list is not comprehensive, but it serves as a good starting point for exploring the web's astronomy resources. These links were last tested in December 1999. I will be updating this page periodically, adding new links and deleting stale ones. • If you want to contribute to the search for extraterrestrial civilizations, it can be as easy as installing a new screensaver on your PC. Just download the software from SETI@home and your computer can be scanning data for evidence of intelligent signals.
• If you're more ambitious, and more technically inclined, you can build your own radio telescope and search for radio signals from extraterrestrial civilizations using the software available from Project BAMBI

• Randi Educational Foundation, spearheaded by James "The Amazing" Randi, professional magician and debunker of pseudoscience and the supernatural.
• Committee for the Scientific Investigation of Claims of the Paranormal, producers of The Skeptical Inquirer, which has a much higher credibility than, say, The National Enquirer.
• Bad Astronomy, dedicated to correcting misinformation about astronomy.
• Astrology Defense Kit from Astronomical Society of the Pacific's Activities with Astrology. They also provide a useful bibliography of resources concerning astrology, UFOs and astronomical pseudoscience.
• Scientific skepticism, UFOs and the flying saucer myth

• WHYY 91 FM broadcasts their monthly Skytour (usually around 9PM, dates vary) and also broadcasts SkyTalk every Monday at 6:30 AM and 8:30 AM (when every good observational astronomer is just getting ready to go to bed!).
• Another radio astronomy program is StarDate, produced by the University of Texas and heard locally on WRTI 90.1 FM (Temple's radio station) daily at 9 AM and 7 PM. The website includes a stargazing section with a sky almanac and weekly observing tips.
• The Universe Today web site provides space and astronomy news, updated weekly.
• WPBT in Miami produces a nationally syndicated astronomy update that is seen on many PBS stations. Our local station (WHYY) no longer carries it, and I am not sure about the other stations in the area. However, there is a web site for the show called Jack Horkheimer: Star Gazer
