Samuel Wiley is Associate Professor of Mathematics
and Computer Science at La Salle University. He joined the faculty
of what was then La Salle College in 1963. He was Chair of the Department
of Mathematics and Computer Science from 1970 to 1974 and again from 1982
to 1990. He was one of the founding faculty for the Graduate Program in
Computer Information
Science (CIS) and served as its Interim Director in 1993-1994 and again in 2001-2002. Although his original research was in Mathematics in the area of Functional Analysis,
more specifically Topological Semigroups, his current research is in Computer
Science and his specific areas of interest are computer science education,
database management systems, N-Tier architecture and social and ethical concerns related to computing.
As of May, 2004, Dr. Wiley is partially retired. During Fall, 2012 he is teaching CSC
155, Introduction to Computer Applications for Business
