Explorer Shadow Program

Take an Explorer to Work

How can alumni help students clarify their career goals? One way is invite a current Explorer to your workplace for a day to observe, participate and learn through the La Salle Explorer Shadow Program.  Last year (2018-19), sixty students were matched to host sites.  We’re aiming for over 100 matches this year!

The 2019-20 Explorer Shadow Program will take place during winter break (12/16/19 – 1/10/20) or a mutually convenient date by 2/28/20.

Participating students gain a realistic understanding of a career field, explore options for a major, seek advice from hosts, and plan for other ways to discover new career paths. A variety of experiences during the day can help them to accomplish these goals such as conversations with members of the organization, observing meetings and participating with hands-on involvement in a project.

In this mutually beneficial program hosts are able to give La Salle students an inside look at how their business/company operates.  Being a host presents the opportunity to mentor the next generation of professionals while also expanding your organization’s brand awareness.
