March 13 Important Update from Cathleen Parsons-Nikolic

To our La Salle Alumni community,

It’s my hope this note finds you well. I would like to provide you with an update on the latest developments at La Salle University.

Our University continues to monitor the effects of a novel coronavirus, called COVID-19. A task force at La Salle has worked diligently over the last several weeks to assess updates and implement operational changes that will mitigate risks to our community and ensure academic and business continuity.

In light of this global pandemic, we have elected to suspend the University’s Day of Giving. Our annual 24-hour fundraising event had been scheduled for Wednesday, March 25. This public health crisis requires us to focus our efforts on supporting students, faculty, and staff, and protecting the health and wellness of our community. We are so grateful to those who have supported—and continue to support—La Salle.

Other operational changes include:

  • The extension of our students’ spring break, scheduled for March 16-20, by canceling face-to-face instruction for March 23-27. University courses will resume remote learning from March 30-April 6. Face to face instruction on campus will resume no earlier than April 6.
  • On recommendation from global and local health officials, all University-sponsored events scheduled through April 6 have been suspended. Out of an overabundance of caution, we are not processing registrations for future events at this time.  Should you have questions regarding an event you were planning to attend, please contact Alumni Relations at or call 215-951-1535.

Thank you for being a loyal member of our Explorer family. Please be safe and stay well.
