To our La Salle Alumni community,
As a community, we continue to hold our mission as our guidepost, and our advancement team is here to support that mission.
As we navigate through the days and weeks of this public health crisis, we are making decisions based on the information available to us and with the best intentions. These decisions include the postponement of all face-to-face events and activities at all La Salle University sites scheduled through mid-May, which includes our signature award events, Day of Giving, sports banquets, Commencement 2020, and the 50th Reunion.
We are exploring ways to create different opportunities to engage with our community and will be sharing more details about a virtual alumni book club and a learning lecture series for our alumni, parents, and faculty and staff who, for the moment, are unable to come together in person. We are in the process of developing virtual ways to engage our students, including social opportunities and an online Career Fair. Our Enrollment team is in the process of developing a Virtual Blue & Gold Day Website that will provide accepted students the opportunity to see campus through the eyes of our students, faculty, and staff to ensure our connection with families remains stronger than ever.
It is our intention to maintain and build upon our sense of community through these efforts and have our first virtual session for parents balancing remote working and homeschooling scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, March 24 at 8:30 p.m.
We have heard from so many of you asking how you can help support our students during this time. We ask you to consider donating to the Student Emergency Fund, which provides loaner laptops for online learning, funds for airfare for students who must return home, moving costs for resident students who cannot make the trip back to campus to pick up their belongings, and tuition gap funding for students who are now unable to work their on- and off-campus jobs and cannot make their final tuition and fee payments. Other alumni have supported The La Salle Fund, which provides resources for the University to respond nimbly to a new way of educating, counseling, and connecting with our students. We are grateful for that support as we navigate this unprecedented time and hope you will consider joining these efforts by investing in our future.
We remain committed to serving the wonderful alumni of our University during this time. Please email or call the office for more information about events, direct support, or alumni programming. Please be safe and stay well.
