Alumni and Family Weekend: Celebrate La Salle, from anywhere
Returning to La Salle is a return to my home, my roots, and my community. It’s a chance to meet up with friends, faculty, and families. I remember my “Glory Days” at La Salle and witness glimpses of these magical moments in the eyes of the student body – full of energy, wonderment, and perpetual hope. COVID-19 prevents us from gathering on campus right now for Homecoming, but it can’t stop the La Salle community from our mission to Keep Exploring!
A virtual Alumni and Family Weekend on Oct 14-18 has been created to engage everyone in our extended University community.
The festivities kick off on Wednesday (Oct. 14) with alumnus Mike Madrigale, ’99 hosting a virtual wine tasting and continues all weekend with cooking classes, Quizzo, and even a Happy Hour Concert with alums Joe Rebl, ’91 and Joe Romano, ’91.
There are activities for young ones, too, like do-it-yourself pumpkin decorating and an opportunity to relive the Sweet 16 appearance by our 2013 men’s basketball team with live commentary provided by former coaches and players. The weekend concludes at Sunday Mass with the Christian Brothers and virtual tour of the American Revolution Museum to bring our weekend to an exciting close. This virtual weekend is sure to excite and enliven your La Salle roots and set the stage for the big party in the spring. Register now!
We as alumni need to give back to our university and the students today who carry our flag and need our support and mentorship.
You can help by offering your experience and expertise through the Explorer Career Connections Network. This network provides students and recent graduates an opportunity to engage with professionals in their field of interest and make connections that help with career and personal development. Alumni Career Guides can help by offering internship and job search advice; resume review; practice interviews; networking advice; and mentorship. Find your mission from the options above and sign up today!
As I’ve said before, if you have a talent to share (whether a professional or fun passion), share it with the La Salle alumni community. Get involved by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Loving life when I witness my fellow alumni building bigger circles, tighter connections and greater engagement and giving back to our students.
